Memories

1.

“What are these?” asked Fuin with some worries in her voice.
She had her finger pointed at a picture in a very old book, while she where looking at her father.
“Those are fellhounds, some of the very first seen in Kalimdor I belive”, replied Thoron.
Fuin smirked a bit when she looked at the picture once again. The doglike creatures with the long tentacles really freaked her out.
“Are they... demons?” she asked him in the same way.
Thoron noded at her.
“Indeed. Those feeds upon magickal energies and...” he interrupted himself, and took a look at the book she where reading. “This is the first war... did you know about that?” he continued.
Fuin noded slightly at him.
“You have always told me that the greatest power is wisdom, and I really do want to know more about the past”, she said to him with a small smile.
It had really bothered Thoron to have her reading about the stories and histories of the ancient wars. But he had promised her someday that she could, and now was really a proper moment of doing that.
The tall rogue walked back and forth in the room as he studied his daugther.
Fuin moved her head closer to the picture with the demons. Her sight got stuck on a big demon surrounded by green flames, with a body made of stones. She panted a bit as she came to remember something.
“Father... what are those... things?” she said with a quite voice.
Thoron looked down at the book again.
“Those are infernals... also beeings of the burning legion... demons...” he said while he noded slightly at the picture.
He could see in her eyes that something where bothering her.
“Something wrong, Fuin?” he asked her with a calm voice, looking at her.
Fuin kept staring at the picture, and after a while she took away her eyes from it and shaked her head.
“No, everything is fine, Father”, she answered him with a slightly smile.
Though she knew that everything wasn’t fine. She remembered that creature. She had seen one of those before. Before the cold metall pierced her flesh.
She did not like to worry her father, so she shaked away that feeling like it never had been there. She had caused enough troubles and worries already, and didn’t want to bring up something new.
She stood up from the chair and closed the book.
“I am going out for a while, father”, she said to him with a small smile. Thoron looked at her and noded slightly, before he turned his attention to some papers he where holding in his hands.
Fuin had always been thinking about why his mind always where focused thowards pieces of papers. Maybe it had something to do with his work? Which she did not know mutch about. He had told her once that he was a member of “The Cenarion Circle”, but exactly what he did for them he did not tell her.

The sun where shining, and every leaf in the forest reflected as a great rainbow when the light tutched them. As Fuin went out from her house, she sighed a bit. Aweare of the nollege that she very soon would be leaving both Astranaar and Ashenvale. She didn’t want to leave. All memories, and all of her friends where here. But she’d agreed with her father that it was the best decision to make. There where still remains of the Burning Legion left in the forest, and it was no longer a safe place to grow up in.
Now a new life and surrounding waited for her in the city of Darnassus. She had never been there before, but some of her friends had and they had told her some paths about it.

She went down the path from her home, untill she came to a place with a big rock. She sat herself down, almost in a laying position on it. She turned her face up to the trees and sighed.
How had it come to this? What did she do here? And why?
Thinking where something she did often, and she also knew very well that thinking too mutch could lead to diseavery.
Why had it come to this at all? Why had the Goddess spared her life and turned off her mother’s in the same moment she got to breath the air?
She did slowly move down one of her hands in her right pocked and took up a beautiful, silver-decored flute. Her father had given it to her once. He’d tell her that it had belonged to her mother. When playing at it, it gave some very strange sounds that almost sounded like the breeze, the ice, the fire, the leafs and the water. Fuin only plaied on it when she where feeling lonely, and when she where alone aswell. She only knew about one song, that her father had thought her which her learnined from her mother. The song where called “Everywhere around us”, and was Fuin’s favourite.
She did slowly close her eyes and begun to play on the flute. She knew the words like the back of her head, but would never sing it.

The Mother Moon watch down on us
As we walk alone in the deepest dark
She is here, she is there
Everywhere around us

Like a gentle breeze that grabs your hair
As a mother bound tight to her child
She is here, she is there
Everywhere around us

When the lights goes out and swallows by the darkness
When we stand alone in the cold empty hollowness
She is here, she is there
Everywhere around us

When she plaied it she got strenght inside of her, and she was aweare of that someone somewhere, where watching over her. Even when she felt lonlier then ever.
“I wish I had knew you, Serlinite”, she whispered thowards the wind as she stared up at the sky.
Serlinite Windspear, which where the name of Fuin’s mother before she’d married herself to Fuin’s father, Thoron Nightblade. Thoron had told Fuin many times of how he got to meet the beautiful priestess of Elune, that had captured his heart. In Thoron’s eyes, her light shined stronger then the Goddess herself. Sense the first time he saw her, he had went down to the temple only to see her. There first meeting was really a dramatic one, and Fuin giggled a bit every time Thoron came to that part.

One night when Thoron had sneaked down to the temple, he hided himself up in a tree. As a suprice, the beautiful priestess he had observed for so long, but never had the guts to speak with, sat herself down benith the same tree.
He freezed himself in that moment. Her beautiful, darkblue hair where slightly moving with the light wind. Her pink skinn looked smooth as roses. Her eyes shined like the Moon itself.
Thoron had deeply fallen under her spell, and didn’t notice how the branch he stood on where on it’s way to crack. He leaned himself closer to her and kept observing her grace. And then, the branched cracked and he fell down right infront of her, on his back. But before he got a chanse of moving himself up, he got a staff and some angry eyes pointed at him. And then it went as it went.

Fuin grined wickedly a bit when she thought of that.
She had never fallen in love, or even felt the softness of a kiss. She envied those people that had experienced anything like that. She wished that she one day got to feel something like that, or even build her own family.
She brought up the flute once again, and plaied the only song she knew.

She raised herself up on the feet again, and did slightly put down the flute in her pocked and begun to slowly walk back to her home. When she reached it some few feets away from the doorway, she saw her father. He stod stright and noded slightly at her.
“It’s time now, Fuin”, he said to her with a calm voice as he walked away from the house.
She turned her back away from the house, but looked back at it over her shoulder.
Thoron reached out his hand to her, which she grabed with hers after a while. They begun to slowly walk away from the house.
So many memories rushed through her head while they where walking. Wounder if the house would stand there when the time would come to return back to Ashenvale? It was the same house her mother had lived in with her father after they got married. The same house she where borned in. And the same house she had spent her whole lifetime in.
Now it was time to leave those things behind, and look forward.

As Fuin and Thoron came to notice the forest where changing, Fuin stoped walking and looked up at her father, who looked back at her.
“We are at the borders of Darkshore now, daugther”, he said to her with a small smile.
“Go ahead father... I will catch up with you in a while... there’s something I need to do”, she said to him with a calm voice.
Thoron looked at her and noded slightly as he begun to keep walking down the road.
Fuin turned her sight to the forest of Ashenvale, and picked up the flute. She did slightly close her eyes and played the song one last time to the forest, and she hoped it would enjoy it.
Then she had a moment of silence while she looked at the beauty of the forest.
“Ande’thoras-ethil, Ashenvale... untill we meet again”, she whispered.
Then she turned away from the forest and begun to run after her father.
the background story of my rp char Fuin, a kaldorei or night elf, as I play on the EU RP server Moonglade. I will add some part once in a while. And yeah, I know that some part of my grammar sucks, and we'll have to live with that =p
